Protect Your Financial Security

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.  We’ve all heard these words a million times before, but it’s time to take them to heart.  After all, it takes decades to build up your retirement assets. But it takes only one scam to rob you of them.

  • The Women’s Institute for a Secure Retirement (WISER) has compiled a “Too good to be true checklist”.  If you hear one of these lines, you know it’s time to walk away. 


It’s a difficult topic, but one that we all must face – planning for the inevitable troubles of life.  No matter what our life stage, we need to be mindful of the financial impact a major disability or illness could have on our finances.  It’s important to make plans now so that your interests are protected when a crisis strikes. 

  • The National Association of Insurance Commissioners compiles information about what types of insurance you need at each life stage.  Learn more...
  • It’s not just for the rich – estate planning allows you or anyone to implement certain tools now to ensure that your desires are fulfilled after you die.  If you're among the 60% of Americans who don't have a will, you may want to consider talking to a lawyer about drawing one up.  The American Bar Association provides a guide to wills and estates.
     
  • Long-term care insurance protects your assets in the event that you need nursing home, assisted living, or home health care.  The Pennsylvania Department of Insurance compiled frequently asked questions about this insurance product. The Department offers the Pennsylvania Long-Term Care Partnership Policy to provide dollar for dollar protection against long-term care expenses. Learn more...
